Built because nothing like it existed.

In 2024 we asked a simple question: why does Asia's most openly gay city not have a truly great gay onsen? Bangkok had saunas — plenty. What it didn't have was the thing Japanese bath culture perfects:water as an event. Mineral content that means something. Temperatures held to the degree. A meal worth staying for.

So we built it. Powdered minerals shipped from Kusatsu. Three pools at 41°, 38° and 19°. A steam room scented with bergamot and lemongrass, half a ton of Himalayan salt, a room that hums at 932 Hz, and a tatami kitchen where the meal is included — not an upsell.

Within a year, Maxwell was what the guides call it now: Thailand's flagship gay onsen. The Japanese guests say it feels like home. The locals say it feels like a holiday. Both are right.
